KYM identified by MDNIY as Nodal Yoga Institute for Tamilnadu

The Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY), an autonomous body under the Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, has announced a scheme for the establishment of District Yoga Wellness Centers all over India under Public Private Partnership. This scheme aims to partially support Non-Governmental Organizations in promoting yoga activities for public/community healthcare and to encourage utilization of yoga professionals in public health care delivery programs. In this context, Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram has been appointed as the Nodal Yoga Institute for Tamilnadu. The KYM, as Nodal Yoga Institute, will receive and scrutinize all applications submitted by NGOs in Tamilnadu and make appropriate recommendations to the MDNIY after examining the applications with regard to credibility, infrastructural facilities, technical aspects and potentiality to conduct the programs laid down in the scheme. Further, KYM will also provide technical support to the selected NGOs, assist in establishing infrastructural facilities and appointment of suitable yoga professionals as staff and assist the center in implementing the program effectively.
